Everything evolves with AI innovations. We try to automate almost everything with AI while also maintaining accuracy and control. Overusing AI has negative effects, but the proper, ethical use of AI under human supervision drastically improves the productivity of literally any job role. AI is ending the classic programming era, which involves traditional code editors, long documentation, casual programming forums, developer research, and manual coding. Now, programmers do pair programming with AI agents to do tasks faster and more accurately.
AI changed developer hiring. I still remember how I prepared myself for classic programming interviews by remembering algorithms, data structures, and practicing writing code by solving coding challenges. I also conducted classic programming interviews for many candidates. That era is over — now companies seek programmers who can co-develop software with AI, not die-hard classic coding enthusiasts who hate AI or vibe coders who overuse AI.
