Hackathons are where ideas stop being theory and start becoming real. But if we’re being honest, many Web3 hackathons still orbit the same patterns, DEX clones, NFT drops, dashboards with slightly better UI.
So if I had one shot to build something meaningful at the Portaldot Hackathon, I wouldn’t chase hype.
I’d build something people actually need.
The Idea: Proof-of-Reason (PoR), A Reputation Layer for Human + AI Judgment.
Imagine a decentralized system where: Users make predictions about real-world outcomes.
AI agents generate reasoning behind those predictions.
Humans evaluate, critique, and refine that reasoning.
Both humans and AI earn reputation based on quality of thinking, not just outcomes.
This is what I call Proof-of-Reason (PoR).
Not Proof-of-Work.
Not Proof-of-Stake.
But Proof that you can think well, reason clearly, and improve over time.
Why This Matters Right Now.
We’re entering a world where AI doesn’t just assist decisions, it makes them.
The problem?
Most systems reward results, not reasoning.
You can guess right and still think poorly.
You can think deeply and still be early (and be labeled wrong)
That’s a broken feedback loop.
A dApp like PoR flips this:
