Her Game Too France launches anti-sexism scheme in bars for World Cup

Her Game Too France is trying to change that with a new anti-sexism program targeting bars and venues screening matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19.
The initiative invites establishments to sign up as “Bars Partenaires,” essentially positioning themselves as venues where female patrons can watch the tournament without worrying about harassment.

Participating bars will receive staff training focused on creating a welcoming and secure environment for women and girls watching matches. Beyond training, the program establishes formal mechanisms for reporting incidents of sexism or violence.
The model borrows from the UK’s “safe space” pub concept, which Her Game Too’s original British branch has been refining since 2021. Her Game Too France, founded in 2022 as the movement’s French counterpart, is now adapting that framework specifically for World Cup viewing culture.
Her Game Too France’s growing influence
Her Game Too France has built collaborative relationships with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and all 36 Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs since launching in 2022.
The stadium-focused work has been the organization’s bread and butter, promoting better treatment and experiences for female fans inside grounds. Expanding into bars and public viewing spaces for the World Cup represents a logical next step.
The 2026 World Cup, hosted across the US, Mexico, and Canada, will be the first to feature 48 teams.
